This is the Mackay Farmhouse which is now ready to receive visitors. This page will take you inside the house to give prospective visitors an idea as to the quality of accommodation offered. The Farmhouse is fully carpeted throughout and is fully UPVC Double glazed. Toilet/shower room located on ground floor. Electricity is generated for all the buildings on Taransay by a wind turbine. The Farmhouse offers comfortable accommodation in an unequalled location with spectacular South facing views over the West Coast of Harris.
In terms of accommodation the farmhouse has sleeping capacity for a maximum of six persons, there are three bedrooms in the Farmhouse and they are configured as follows:
In the kitchen there is a gas hob/oven, an oil fired stove that provides hot water, a fridge (no freezer) and a full range of kitchen utensils. As part of the refurbishment the kitchen was entirely replaced and re-floored to offer the cosy and modern environment shown. kitchen
The living room has seating for six persons and an open fire, there is no television, ensuring you complete peace and quiet during your stay on Taransay.
